MIM hosts its 3^rd Appreciation Nite

Kuala Lumpur - The Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM) hosted over 150 guests comprising MIM Court of Fellows and General Council members, corporate clients, business associates, trainer-facilitators, valued partners and sponsors at the MIM Appreciation Nite 2008, held at Nikko Hotel, on Thursday, 28 February 2008.

At the evening, Vice President of the Institute, YBhg Tan Sri Osman S. Cassim recognised MIM top clients which supported the Institute in the year 2007. The Platinum Awards were given to Bank Pertanian Malaysia and Malayan Banking Berhad, while Silver Awards were presented to HeiTech Padu Berhad, IT 365 (M) Sdn Bhd, Jimah O&M Sdn Bhd, Panasonic Electronics Devices (M) Sdn Bhd, Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia and Tenaga Nasional Berhad.

"This is the 3rd time since the past 3 years that MIM has been hosting an Appreciation Night to recognise and thank our clients and partners for their invaluable support" said YBhg Tan Sri Osman Cassim.

MIM Chairman, YBhg Jeneral Tan Sri Dato' Zain Hashim presented recognition awards to the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) and the eight judges of the MIM-Public Bank "Managers of the Year Award" 2007.

The MIM Appreciation Nite 2008 also saw the certificate presentation to the inaugural batch of 16 graduates of the MIM Certified Professional Intellectual Property Manager programme. The professional certification programme was designed to cultivate a comprehensive understanding of knowledge required in implementing an Intellectual Property (IP) portfolio management process aimed at effective and successful value extraction. Encik Kamel Mohammed, Director General of Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia, presented the awards to the 16 graduates.

MIM has planned a host of exciting events and activities in year 2008 such as the MIM-Public Bank "Manager of the Year Awards", MIM-Ricoh National Management Game, the Asian Association of Management Organisation (AAMO) General Council meeting, MIM CEO Forum, MIM-NPC Malaysian Management Capability Index Survey 2008, National Annual Corporate Report Awards, the 25th Tunku Abdul Rahman Lecture as well as three corporate social responsibility programmes - MIM-TRYLA, MIM-THORA and MIM-RAMLEA.

The MIM Appreciation Nite 2008 also recognised MIM trainer-facilitators for their outstanding performance. A total of 12 trainer-facilitators were given top honours for training excellence and producing exceptional ratings amongst training programme participants.

The Institute thanks all guests for their presence that evening and looks forward to continuous support from them in 2008, helping the Institute further develop Malaysian human capital to meet the needs of a competitive working global environment.
